Hand Dyed Mulberry Silk Top
This fibre was dyed as 100g lengths, in matching pairs, and then divided. This means that each peace will be broadly similar. However dividing silk exactly is nigh on impossible, there may be some variation in the weights and colour placements.
A Grade Mulberry Silk is the highest grade of silk, super smooth and shiny. I can no longer source bricks of a quality I am happy with, so will now be stocking silk top. This top is of the quality I used to be able to get in brick form 4 years ago.
This silk has been hand dyed in my home in the Welsh hills using acid dyes, these give strong long lasting colours.
May contain some paler patches, which will lead to a lovely subtle variegation when spun. Please check the listing photos carefully, they will give you an indication of the variation on the colourway.
These fibres have been dyed to exhaust using acid dyes, and then rinsed using hot water and detergent. I recommend you hand wash your spun yarn in warm water, using a mild pH neutral detergent. The no-rinse wool washes seems to be the most prone to causing bleeding so are best avoided.
