Bach Packs are a collection of hand dyed Superfine Shetland.

Bach is welsh for little, so you get just a little of every colour.

7 different hand dyed shades, 20g (0.7oz) of each, 140g (4.9oz) in total.

The colourways have been carefully put together to be great for colour work and stripes, within each pack there are a variety of colours, but also different depth of shades, which is the key to creating colour work motifs that stand out.

You could also use them on drum carders and blending boards to add a little special touch to blends.

Each colour way is hand dyed in a solid colour way, but the nature of hand dyeing creates a fibre that won't produce a solid coloured yarn. This tonal variation will really help to create unique beautiful projects.

Superfine Shetland is combed top using Shetland fleeces that only come from the Shetland islands. The wool sorters at Jamiesons and Smith select the best of the clip each year and have it processed in to this gorgeous soft, bouncey, fibre.

These colourways are intended to be repeatable, but the nature of my hand dyeing techniques means that colourways will never be identical from dye batch to dye batch. All the packs that are available at any one time will come from the same batch and will match each other. Packs listed at a later date may well contain colours that are slightly different. Please buy enough in one go to complete your chosen project.

As a guide, 140g should be enough to complete both a colour work hat, and mittens such as Peerie Flooers by Kate Davies, but you may have to swap around your colour orders for the background colours.  You can purchase printed copies of the pattern for the hat here, and the mittens here.

These fibres have been dyed to exhaust using acid dyes, and then rinsed using hot water and detergent. However, differences in water can sometimes cause odd things to happen to hand dyed fibres. I would recommend washing the dark colours separately from the pale colours in the unlikely case that some bleeding does occur.
