Hand Dyed and oh so luxurious!
This is a blend of Tussah Silk, Yak Down and Royal Baby Alpaca.
Yak softness of cashmere, but with slightly less of an ouch to the price tag, it measures 17-19 microns.
Royal Baby Alpaca is the finest grade of Alpaca, with a micron count of 18-19.
By blending the Alpaca with the Silk you get a more homogenous bend, that's easy to spin. No more being left with a handful of fluff after you've drafted out all of the silk fibres from your piece of combed top.
The resulting yarn is soft, fluffy, and drapey.

Dyed by me, in my home in the Welsh hills using acid dyes, these give strong long lasting colours.

Cool handwash only, will felt. For more detailed washing instructions of your finished skein take a look here.
This fibre is hand dyed in small batches, where more than one braid is available they will have been dyed at the same time, using the same dye stock, but my dyeing technique produces braids with subtle variations, no two braids are ever identical.
