2020, the year of the unexpected!
But the Tour de France is on, even though it's later than normal. As a result we're doing something different for the Team Fibre. I'll be dyeing a fresh colourway each week, to co-ordinate with the Ultrafine Merino we used as at the Team fibre during the original Tour de Fleece dates earlier this year.
Les a fibre to spin during the race, and more of a souvenir of this most unusual year!
Rambouillet produce a wonderful crimpy fibre, but with a more dis-organised crimp, matte appearance, and longer staple than their close relations, the Merino.
The breed is a very old one, dating back to 1786 when the first Spanish Merino sheep were allowed to leave Spain as a gift to the French King.

Hand dyed by me in my home in the Welsh hills using acid dyes, these give strong, long lasting colours.~ 100g (3.5oz)This fibre is hand dyed in small batches, where more than one braid is available they will have been dyed at the same time, using the same dye stock, but my dyeing technique produces braids with subtle variations, no two braids are ever identical, where multiple braids are available they are shown in the additional photographs.
