Mulberry Silk Hankies, also known as Mawata. The Silk moth's cocoon is stretched over a frame and dried, forming a thin sheet of silk fibre. To use, pull off a single sheet of silk, poke a hole in the middle and stretch out the square in to a tube of silk, then pull in to the desired thickness. You can then add twist using a spinning wheel or just knit using the untwisted fibre.
