Spins in to a soft yarn, that's also incredibly strong, and gives great stitch definition.
75% Superwash British BFL (Blue Faced Leicester)
25% Ramie
Ramie is a plant based fibre. It's made from nettles in a similar process to linen. It resists the acid dyes so creates a beautiful depth to the colour. It's very strong, slightly shiny, and incredibly soft.
It has a long staple length, similar to the BFL, these fibres go together very well. The BFL has been superwash treated making this blend machine washable, but always wash a swatch in your individual machine first.
Hand dyed by me in my home in the Welsh hills using acid dyes, these give strong long lasting colours.
100g (3.5oz)
This fibre is hand dyed in small batches, where more than one braid is available they will have been dyed at the same time, using the same dye stock, but my dyeing technique produces braids with subtle variations, no two braids are ever identical, where multiple braids are available they are shown in the additional photographs.
I recommend you wash a swatch in your machine before washing a finished item, for best results use a low temperature or cold water cycle. Dye will fade at a faster rate if you machine wash compared to gentle hand washing.
